AITP Representatives Elected to Lead ICCP in 2011-2012

AITP is proud to announce that our Diamond Lifetime member and AITP ICCP liaison, William "Bill" Fly, CDP, SCJP of the Dallas Chapter, has been elected as President of the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) for 2011-12. Bill has been a member of AITP for over 38 years and is currently serving on the AITP national board as a director for the Southern District.

Since its founding in 1973 by DPMA and ACM, the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) has dedicated itself to the establishment of high professional standards for the computer industry. Under the direction of its Board of constituent societies, one of which is AITP, and affiliate societies, ICCP actively promotes certification programs in the profession.

Bill brings a wealth of leadership experience and technical expertise to the ICCP organization. Bill passed the DPMA Certified Data Processor exam in 1970 and started working on certification in 1971 on the DPMA Registered Business Programmer certification exam. He helped create the Certified Computer Programmer certification program in 1976 and served as CCP Certification Council in 1980-1981. He has served on the ICCP board representing AITP for four years, two most recent as secretary.

Replacing Bill as Secretary for 2011-2012 is AITP's other liaison Joe Albers, CCP, CDMP, CBIP of the
Northeastern Wisconsin Chapter.
